Ford Door Handle Sensor Not Working

Once you have set the sequence in motion the door should just pop open.
Ford door handle sensor not working. I used to be able to lock and unlock the doors from any one of the four handles until 3 days ago. A common problem with those they are used on just about every ford these days.
At each door you will see the latch mechanism. The problem is that there is a sticky switch in the door latch mechanism. The capacitive face is coupled to an evaluation circuit which detects changes in the capacitance of the handle. Caution for kids doors use this method at your own risk.
The sensor has an active capacitive face directed towards the handle for detecting approaching movements. Use magnetic reed switch to provide a ground to the door latch sensor wire when the door is closed. When the capacitive face gets enough debris between it and the handle intermittent problems can occur. Do not wrap your fingers around the handle and use your thumb.
Keep in mind that it may not be the driver s side door that is at fault so you might want to do all 2 or 4 doors depending on your model. Ford replaced the module under the seat eventually under a couple of days investigation but were sure it was the handle as it s quite common with keyless entry problems. Since the touch sensitive area is flush with the body you will not see it easily. This switch is telling the computer that a door is open even when it is not.
When i first got my st i would turn the car off exit the vehicle close the door and then grab the handle and touch the black sensor with my thumb like in the fiesta but nothing would happen. Apparently the keyless entry has a sensor built into the door handle and a control module underneath the passenger seat. If your door is closed but not fully latched it will not sense that. Normally open magnetic reed.
I finally figured out that i was doing it wrong by grabbing the handle. Mine senses the door open at about 1. A touch sensitive door lock relies on special sensors and wiring.
